5 simple New Year's Resolutions you (and me!) can actually accomplish in 2017
January 02, 2017
Do you have a habit of making a list of New Year’s resolutions at the end of every year? And if so, do you manage to stick to them?
To be honest, I’m really not that good in keeping my NY’s resolutions. That is why I decided not to set big, general goals like “I will eat healthier this year” or “I will exercise more this year”. I figured this was too vague and that I’d need to set smaller, yet feasible objectives for myself. So, here are my 5 goals for 2017:
Learn a foreign language
In year 2017, I’d like to improve my German language skills and reach CEFR level B2. I've started learning German in summer 2016 and since mid-December, I'm attending the B1 language course.
Incorporate short intervals of exercise into your day
I definitely want to exercise more this year, and I plan to do so by incorporating quick sets of exercise throughout the day. I’d like to start with challenges like this one (doing squats every other day, while gradually increasing the number of reps by 5-10).
Travel more
I plan to travel a bit more this year. I hope to at least visit a friend who's living and studying in Germany.
Keep a gratitude log
In my attempt to focus on the positive things in life, I plan to keep a weekly gratitude log.
Keep a daily journal
I will definitely go back to journaling. Maybe I’ll also start bullet-journaling again.
What are your NY’s resolutions? What do you plan to improve in your life this year?
I’d also like to share a wonderful list of NY’s resolutions with you. I plan to get back to this list every now and then, especially when I’m in need of some inspiration or motivation.
Love,
Joja
